In Sierra Leone’s second city, Bo, on the 12th of May 2023, Drive Safe Alliance Sierra Leone (DSA SL) opened its doors to stake holders, partners and government agencies for the first time. In anticipation, other guests, family and friends gathered to witness a pivotal moment in the organisation’s journey towards promoting safer roads.
Inspiring Minds:
One of the highlights of the launching was the inspirational speech delivered by the CEO Ms Massah Bomah of Drive Safe Alliance SL drawing from personal experiences and real-world examples, Ms Bomah urged the audience to make road safety every road user’s priority, driving home the significance of making safe choices on the road. Her address resonated deeply with her audience from members of the Bo community with assurance from them for a collective commitment to prioritize road safety in their daily lives.
Teacher Empowerment:
Recognising the pivotal role teachers play in shaping young minds, Drive Safe Alliance SL has embarked on a journey to recruit teachers as pelican crossing volunteers. Teachers receive training from Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority(SLRSA).
Road Safety knowledge and education empowers teachers to integrate road safety education seamlessly into their curriculum. The enthusiastic response from teachers underscored their dedication to nurturing responsible citizens equipped to navigate the roads safely.
